A roof is the first line of defence in protecting most people’s greatest asset – your home! It is recommended that your roof should be maintained at least every ten years.

The purpose of restoring a roof is to firstly fix the problems and then fix the cause.

Typical problems associated with roofs exposed to the harsh Queensland climate, involves deterioration of the original surface which in turn tends to expose and magnify other problems.

When you restore a roof, preparation is paramount which includes thoroughly cleaning the roof surface area as well as fixing all the faults. The critical part of coating a roof is the application of a first coat or binding coat. The binding coat will vary depending on the type of roof as well as the condition of the roof.

The key reason we use Dulux Acratex is because of the incredible adhesion achieved through there range of binder coats.

Once applied, the integrity under the coatings remain unchanged.
When you restore a roof, ultimately it is the coloured finish coatings that are going to be subjected to the elements.
There are any number of branded finish coats (colour coats) that will stand the test of time against the Queensland climate, as long as they are applied at an appropriate.
The binding coat is what the finish coat relies on to be able to adhere to the roof and it is the binder coat that will determine if the finish coats will remain on your roof for the long term.
